On August 26, the Aargauer Kunsthaus celebrated the opening of its newest exhibition, which was curated by Elisabeth Bronfen.
Titled Eine Frau ist eine Frau ist eine Frau...: Eine Geschichte der Künstlerinnen, the exhibit revisits the work of artists that challenged and articulated sexual difference through visual art in modern and postmodern contexts.
A transcript of Prof. Bronfen's opening speech, which drew connections between her scholarly work as a cultural critic and her approach on the task of curation, is available here.
